COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 5 Mizzou wrestling squad makes their way to Troy, N.Y. this Saturday for the 2014 Northeast Duals. Head Coach Brian Smith and his Tigers will compete in four duals, including a matchup against No. 19 Oklahoma.

The 12th annual Journeymen / Asics Northeast Duals will be broadcasted live on FloWrestling.org. A total of 16 teams from across the country will compete at this year's event.

Mizzou moved to 3-0 this season after a big 24-10 dual win at Old Dominion last Sunday, Nov. 23. The Tigers claimed 8-of-10 matches against the Monarchs with one of those losses coming via forfeit at Heavyweight. Seven of Mizzou's wins came via decision, while the last came by sudden victory.

Miklus Makes National Statement

Redshirt freshman Willie Miklus stole the match last Sunday in Norfolk, Va., as he claimed a big upset over No. 2 Jack Dechow (9-7 SV1). The win by Miklus moved him to a perfect 8-0 this season and also helped catch the attention of the national media. After being un-ranked in every preseason media outlet poll, the Altoona, Iowa native is now ranked as high as No. 10 (Intermat) in the country at 184 pounds.

Tigers Notch Three Ranked Wins In All At Old Dominion

Mizzou's grapplers picked up three ranked wins in all last Sunday at Old Dominion, including Miklus' big upset victory, redshirt senior Drake Houdashelt's victory and redshirt sophomore Lavion Mayes' win. In Houdashelt's opening dual match of the season, the O'Fallon, Mo. native defeated No. 11 Alexander Richardson via Decision, 3-2. Mayes' win came against No. 5 Chris Mecate, as he walked away with an exciting 5-4 decision.

Mizzou "On The Road Again"

The Tigers are in the midst of seven straight duals away from the friendly confines of the Hearnes Center. Mizzou returns home next on Dec. 19 when they have a triple header against South Dakota State, SIUE and Kent State.
