Lincoln, Neb. - Despite a 90 minute weather delay during the third round of play at the Chip-N Club Invitational, Mizzou Women's Golf finished with a strong performance to take second overall as a team. Not only that, but Mizzou placed four golfers among the top-15 individuals. The Tigers (307-295-289--891) shot 27-over par through three rounds, recording their best tally (+1) in the final round. Ohio State took first overall with a score 15-over par and Nebraska rounded out the top three with a score 32-over par.

Senior Alina Rogers wasn't affected by the weather delay as she finished the day 2-under par for her best round of the tournament. Tying for fourth overall, Rogers recorded four birdies on the day. Not far behind, redshirt junior Michelle Butler tied for 10th in the tournament with a final score 7-over par.

Sophomore Jess Meek joined the upperclassmen in the top-15 as she took 13th in the tournament. She also recorded her best score in the third round, closing the day 1-over par. Meek finished the tournament strong, recording five birdies in the final round of play.

Freshman Clara Young earned her stripes as she took 15th in her first collegiate competition. Young shot 3-over par in the third round despite the inclement weather.

Senior Laura Kraft also finished the day strong, recording a score 1-under par in the third round. Kraft fought back after a 14-over par performance in the first wo rounds, notching four birdies in round three, including back-to-back birdies to close out the front nine holes. Kraft tied for 19th in the tournament.

Competing as individuals, juniors Katherine Hepler and Haelena Schwemmer also placed among the top 30 overall. Hepler took 22nd while Schwemmer tied for 28th with a third round tally just 4-over par.

Held at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course, a 6,252-yard, Par 72 course, the Tigers were among a field of ten total teams. In addition to the Cornhuskers, Mizzou is took on Bellevue University, Creighton, Missouri State, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Ohio State, South Dakota State and Wichita State.
