Mizzou Golf Leads In Virginia

Columbia, Mo. - After 36 holes at the Patriot Intercollegiate, Mizzou Golf leads the 17-team field by three strokes heading into Monday's final round at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va.

Four Tigers finished in the top 20 to post a team score of 2-over-par 570. The Patriot Intercollegiate is being hosted by George Mason University for the third year, with the Tigers winning the inaugural event in 2012.

Euan Walker led Mizzou during the first two rounds with a 1-under-par 141. Walker is in a four-way tie for second, just one stroke back of the leader, and will be looking to earn his first career victory as a Tiger.

Ryan Zech shot two consecutive rounds of even-par 71 to finish tied for sixth. The All-American performed well throughout the day and notched three consecutive birdies on Nos. 3-5 in the second round.

Jacob Fair is tied for ninth after posting a 1-over-par 143. Fair was tied for first at the conclusion of the first round with a 3-under-par 68. That first-round score is a new career low for the redshirt sophomore out of Monnet, Mo. Fair's previous low round was a 69 at the Mizzou Intercollegiate during his freshman year.

Freshman Luigi Botta carded a score of 2-over-par 144 to be in a tie for 14th heading into the final round.

Wilson Sundvold rounds out the Tiger starters tied for 32nd with a 6-over-par 148.

Freshman Hayden Buckley is making his first appearance for the Tigers at the Patriot Intercollegiate. Competing as an individual, Buckley finished just behind Sundvold at 7-over-par 149.

Final-round tee times begin at 7:15 a.m. CT off Nos. 1 and 10 tees at Laurel Hill Golf Club Monday.
