Mizzou Set to Host Annual Johnie Imes Invitational

Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Women's Golf and the Club at Old Hawthorne are set to host the Annual Johnie Imes Invitational beginning Monday, Sept. 29 and continuing through Tuesday, Sept. 30. The Tigers will welcome a field of 14 other teams to the 7,221-yard, Par 72 course located on East Broadway in Columbia.

Tournament play will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Monday in a shotgun format. Teams will play two rounds (36-holes) Monday and conclude with the third round of play on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The 2014 tournament field consists of 15 teams total, including Bradley, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Illinois State, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee State, Mizzou, Oklahoma City, Redlands Community College, Southern Illinois, South Florida, UALR, UMKC and Wichita State.

Fans are welcome to cheer on the Tigers out at the Club at Old Hawthorne at any time during the tournament. Final round recaps and scores will also be posted on MUTigers.com as well.

The Tigers took second overall at the 2012 Johnie Imes; SMU took home the tournament trophy with a record-setting team score. The Mustangs' 876 team 54-hole total stands as the second-best team total in tournament history. Oklahoma State holds the record with their 2010 team total of 863. Mizzou did not host the Johnie Imes in 2013 as the Tiger Golf programs held the 2013 Men's NCAA Columbia Regional Preview in its place.
