COLUMBIA, Mo.- No. 18 Mizzou Softball cruised past UMKC in a five-inning, 14-0 victory, improving head coach Ehren Earleywine's squad to 22-7 on the season. Senior P Alora Marble (Jefferson City, Mo.) threw a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits to earn her third win and freshman P/OF/1B Casey Stangel went 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI to lead the Tigers.

Mizzou jumped on the Roos early, scoring five runs in its opening turn at the plate. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning, junior 3B/C Angela Randazzo (Poway, Calif.) singled to put the Tigers on the board. Senior OF Mackenzie Sykes worked a walk on the next at bat and Stangel roped a two-RBI single to make it 4-0. An error by UMKC completed the Tigers' five-run half-inning.

With Marble dealing in the circle and keeping the Roos in check, Mizzou extended its lead in the bottom of the third with another huge inning. Stangel struck again, lining a double in the left center gap to score two runs. Four batters later with the bases loaded, redshirt sophomore SS Sami Fagan (Dunnellon, Fla.) stroked a three-RBI double to right field. Fagan went 2-for-3 at the plate. The Tigers kept pouring it on as a Randazzo single scored Fagan, giving them a 12-0 advantage.

Redshirt sophomore OF Taylor Gadbois batted 2-for-3 in the win to extend her program-best hitting streak to 25 games.

The Tigers tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth when freshman C Kirsten Mack (Riverside, Calif.) launched her second career home run, a two-run bomb over the left field wall. Marble finished the shutout with a clean fifth frame as the Tigers wrapped up the Mizzou Tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.

Mizzou is back in action with a mid-week trip to St. Charles, Mo., for a doubleheader vs. Illinois on Lindenwood University's campus. Action is scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. starts on Tuesday. Ticket information, and more, can be found here.
