Knoxville, Tenn. - Mizzou Women's Golf is back out on the course this weekend, this time in Knoxville, Tenn., for the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship. Held at the 5,897-yard, par 71 course at Cherokee Country Club, the tournament will begin on Friday, Sept. 20 and continue through Sunday, Sept. 22.
The Tigers will again face a competitive field as 11 of the 17 participating teams were recognized nationally in the Golf World Preseason Division I Poll. Competing at the 17th Annual Mercedes-Benz will be No. 8 Arkansas and No. 18 Tulane. Others include South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Michigan, UCF, Campbell, Louisville and Penn State who are all receiving votes in the poll. Also joining Mizzou will be Chattanooga, College of Charleston, Ole Miss, Rollins and UTSA.
Hosted by the University of Tennessee, the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship will begin at 8:30 each day, with 18 holes played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Tigers will begin the first round on the 10th hole, with tee times beginning at 8:25 a.m. CT. Live scoring for the tournament can be found on the Golfstat website, www.golfstat.com.
