Des Moines, Ia. - Freshman Tyler Schneider was the lone Tiger competing today in the USATF Championships as he took the line in the Junior Men's 10k to close out the day's events. The Schaumburg, IL, native battled the 80-degree heat and humidity to finish sixth in the field with a final time of 32:46.22. This is Schneider's second All-American finish this year, after he closed out an impressive cross country season with a seventh-place finish at the U.S. Cross Country Championships in February.
Events continue tomorrow for the Tigers with the women's shot put, where sophomores Kearsten Peoples and Jill Rushin will face an impressive field for a shot at the U.S. team. For the latest on your Tigers, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
