After the Broncos tied it up at 133, senior Todd Schavrien and Levi Jones faced off in the marquee matchup of the dual, as both rank as high as No. 11 in the major polls. Tied up at 2-2 after the second, Schavrien turned things up in the third, as he scored two three point near falls to take an 8-2 lead. With riding time already locked up, Schavrien got a two point near fall right at the buzzer, giving him the 11-2 major decision over Jones.
The Tigers would use the momentum built by Schavrien and use that to wrestle two complete matches at 149 and 157, where Boise State is especially strong. Redshirt freshman Kyle Bradley fell 10-5 to No. 3 Jason Chamberlain, but got a late escape and takedown to avoid the major decision. Nick Gregoris would do the same at 157, as he fought No. 2 Adam Hall down to the buzzer but eventually fell 9-7. Gregoris was down 7-3 late in the second period but got an escape at the buzzer, followed by an escape and takedown in the third to tighten the gap.
165 pounder Zach Toal got Mizzou back on the winning side of things with a 5-3 victory at 165, using two third period escapes and riding time to hold off Michael Cuthbertson.
Boise State regained the lead after 174, taking a 12-10 advantage, but Missouri would take control of the dual at 184. Junior Dorian Henderson wrestled up and scored a 19-5 major decision over Randy Larson to put the Tigers ahead 14-12. Henderson was on the attack the entire match, scoring two first period takedowns, the first coming in 10 seconds. He increased his lead in the second with two takedowns and a near fall before putting things away in the third.
Sophomore Brent Haynes won 13-7 over Matt Casperson, who needed a three-point near fall at the end to avoid the major. Haynes led 2-0 after the first and started the second with a reversal before picking up a pair of three point near falls. Haynes scored a reversal in the final period to go with 1:37 of riding time.
Heavyweight Dom Bradley put things away with a 13-3 major decision to close things out. Bradley scored two first period takedowns and kept the heat on through the rest of the match. He'd pick up three more takedowns and secured 1:37 of riding time for the victory.
Missouri closes out the NWCA National Duals this afternoon with the fifth place match, where they'll face conference rival Oklahoma State. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. CT. MUTigers.com will run their live blog beginning at approximately 12:45 p.m.
