Tigers Continue at UNI Invite

Waterloo, IA – The University of Northern Iowa Invitational completed its second day on Sat., Sept. 24. Freshman Ashleigh Chiaf and senior Jamie Mera both continued their singles and doubles play. Mera faced Ksenia Pronina of Iowa State University and won her match 7-5, 5-7 (10-7). The win set her up to play Sarah Rodefeld of Bradley University. Mera dominated the match and beat Rodefeld 6-0, 6-1. Mera will encounter Erin Kappers of the University of North Dakota tomorrow. All the while, Chiaf fell 6-1, 6-1 to Iowa State's Maria Macedo but she overcame Milwaukee's Christina Colarossi 6-1, 6-1. In doubles, the duo beat the pairing of Lankelma and Moore of Northern Iowa 9-7 to move forward in competition where they will compete in the finals of the top doubles flight against Iowa State.
