Waterloo, IA - Freshman Ashleigh Chiaf and senior Jamie Mera traveled to the University of Northern Iowa in order to compete in the UNI Invitational on Sept. 23-25. In #1 Platinum Singles, Chiaf defeated Carly Miles of Bradley University 6-0, 6-1. She will compete against Maria Macedo of Iowa State University on Sept. 24. Mera put up a fight but was overcome by Manca Krizman of Drake University 6-2, 6-4. In #1 Purple Doubles, Chiaf and Mera had a very successful matches. The pairing beat Petsis and Biehn of the University of North Dakota 8-2. From there, they overcame Macedo and Anderson of Iowa State University and won their second match of the day 9-8 (7-5). Play will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
