No. 25 Missouri Falls to No. 14 Minnesota

The women's swimming and diving team fell to the No. 14 Minnesota Gophers Saturday, 196.00-101.00, as they resumed competition in the new year.

Dominique Bouchard improved on her already stellar season with a first place finish in the 100 back, clocking in at 55.45. She notched yet another victory in the 200 back, finishing in 1:59.72. Lauren Lavigna also medaled for the Tigers in the event, placing third in 2:04.95. Bouchard finished the day with a second place finish in the 400 IM, with a time of 4:27.68.

Melissa Jamerson finished second for the Tigers in the 200 fly (2:04.60), while Francie Szostak placed third in the 100 free (52.41). Morgan McCleery's time of 2:19.41 in the 200 breast earned her a third place finish.

In the 500 free, Stephanie Rovig placed second in 4:52.54. Cassie Cunningham also placed second in the 100 fly, with a 56.69 finish, while Caitlin Connor took third in 58.90.

Missouri also held its own in relay competition, as the team of Cassie Cunningham, Stephanie Rovig, Francie Szostak and Lisa Nathanson finished second in the 200 free relay in 1:35.10. Mizzou's group of Sydney Schaefer, Caitlin Connor, Brigette Selbert and Lauren Mason took third in 1:40.79.

Mizzou found success in the diving pool as well. In the 1 meter dive, Loren Figueroa placed second for the Tigers with 303.60 points, while Jordan Morcom also finished second in the 3 meter dive with 311.02 points. 

The Tigers return home to face Iowa State January 22 at 1 p.m.
