PEORIA, Ill. - Sophomore Bailey Belvis (Prosper, Texas) turned in a 23rd-place finish, earning NCAA All-Midwest honors as she led the Tiger women to a 12th-place nod at the 2010 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in Peoria, Ill., on Saturday morning. Belvis clocked a 6K time of 20:48.66 as she becomes the Tigers' second consecutive All-Region performer after Kaitie Vanatta (Littleton, Colo.) did so a season ago. The Tiger men placed 18th overall on Saturday as well.

"I thought that our entire team really ran tough today and I was especially thrilled with the top three on the women's side," head coach Rebecca Wilmes said. "Bailey ran a great race and she finished up there with a lot of elite company, so I was excited about her performance. I also thought Kinsey and Laura ran very well. Max and Hayden did a great job leading our men's team as well and both of them ran very tough races."

Aside from Belvis, the next two Tiger runners on the women's side turned in very solid performances. Senior Kinsey Farren (Dallas, Texas) placed 28th overall, just missing All-Midwest Region honors as she clocked in at 20:57.36 while Laura Roxberg (Overland Park, Kan.) also turned in a solid race as she placed 40th overall with a time of 21:12.66. In all, the Tiger women placed 12th overall with 321 points in the meet. The three runners placing in the top 40 was an improvement on the Tigers' performance from a season ago as they placed three runners in the top 55 back in 2009.

The men were led by Max Storms (Kansas City, Mo.) who placed 53rd overall in the 10K race with a time of 31:21.83. Teammate Hayden Legg (Mexico, Mo.) was not far behind as he clocked in at 31:44.62, good for a 66th-place finish. Junior middle distance standout Aaron Dixon (Lee's Summit, Mo.) also ran a very smart race and was strong throughout as he placed 96th overall after clocking in at 32:19.48.
