Peoria, Ill. - The Mizzou cross country team wrapped up its day at the Bradley Classic and saw its men's team place sixth out of 21 teams with 193 points. Kevin McKee was the team's top finisher with a 13th-place nod after finishing the 8K course in 24:39. The time was the fastest by a Mizzou runner at the Bradley Classic.
The Tiger women ran their "B" team at the meet and it finished in 12th with 312 total points. Jessica Armstrong was the women's top finisher with a 6K time of 22:27. The rest of the Tiger women's team will compete at the Pre-National meet tomorrow in Terre Haute, Ind.
Following McKee on the men's side was Max Storms, who placed 20th overall with a time of 24:48 while the next-best finisher was Hayden Legg, who ran a time of 25:17, good for 45th overall. Freshman Merid Seleshi was 57th overall with a time of 25:29 while middle-distance standout Aaron Dixon was 67th overall after clocking in at 25:39. Ricky West and Pat Donnely rounded out the Tigers' top six with times of 26:19 and 26:33, respectively.
Aside from Armstrong, the Tiger women got good performances from Esther Vermue and Megan Kowalik. Vermue placed 42nd overall with a time of 22:40 while Kowalik finished 60th after clocking in at 22:57. Eden Slater and Regan Tindell also ran for the Tiger women, placing 74th and 103rd, respectively.
The Tiger women will be back in action tomorrow at the Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Ind., as the Tiger "A" team will run at the meet, which is slated for an 11 a.m. start. For all the latest on Mizzou cross country, stay tuned to MUTigers.com.
