Hey Tiger Fans!!

What an exciting week for Mizzou gymnastics! Friday night we competed against the Redbirds of Illinois State and put up our best performance of the year! Our hard work showed when we posted a new season high, scoring a 196.875! We had several personal bests, and Sarah set a new school all-around record!

We got things going on vault when Becky posted solid 9.825 to start off the night. The rest of the team followed as we all hit big vaults and had some of the best landings of the season. We finished up with a huge 49.15 and carried our energy over to bars. Although we had some mishaps on bars last week, the team showed their strength as we came back with a strong showing. Lauren, D, and Allie gave us great performances to start the rotation and all set new career highs on the event! This paved the way for Becky and Sarah who both nailed their routines and put up big scores. Tara and Sandra both showed the team's depth with excellent routines in the exhibition spots. We were confident heading into our third event as the beam team did work. Brooke did what she does best and led off the event with an impressive 9.725. Alex and D both put up great routines which were followed by a nearly flawless routine from Sarah. Sarah posted an amazing 9.95 setting a new career high and earning a 10 from one judge! We finished out the meet on floor with one of the most exciting performances of the season! Alex set the pace with a huge routine scoring a 9.825. Next, D and Brittany hit solid routines which were really fun to watch. Lauren stunned the crowd with a great routine and posted another personal best with a 9.9! The night would not be complete, however, without an unbelievable performance from Sarah. She earned a well deserved 9.975 from the judges to finish off a career night! Sarah set a new school record in the all-around with an amazing 39.725!!

Overall, we had an incredible meet with everyone contributing to our exiting win. Although we got our season high, we know we still have a lot more to show and are are looking forward to getting back in the gym. This weekend we will travel to SEMO and are hoping to have another great meet! I hope to see everyone there! Go Tigers!
