CHANDLER, Ariz.- The Mizzou men's golf team finished second at its opening tournament of the spring with an 878 thee-round total at the Snowman Getaway in Chandler, Ariz. The Tigers turned in a final round score of 293 on Tuesday.
Washington had a three-round total of 871 to take the tournament title.
Two Tigers finished among the top-10 in the individual standings, led by freshman Jace Long, who tied for sixth place with a 54-hole total of 216. Long shot a 75 on Tuesday after scores of 67 and 74 in the first two rounds of play.
Freshman Stuart Ballingall tied for ninth place with a three-day score of 220 after he carded a 75 in the third round.
Freshmen Brad Moody and Michael Garden were among tied for 16th place with final totals of 224. Garden carded the best round of the day for the Tigers with a three-under-par 69. Sophomore William Harrold tied for 41st place with a total of 232.
Up next for the Tigers is a trip to the East coast, where they will play in the George Washington Invitational in Bethany Beach, Del., March 19-20, followed by the First Market Intercollegiate March 22-23.
