Statewide Outreach Takes Mizzou to Mid-Missouri

Jan. 21, 2010

Mizzou Athletics Director Mike Alden, along with the "Voice of the Tigers" Mike Kelly, Director of Marketing Emily Janssen and Associate Director of Media Relations Josh Murray visited areas of Central Missouri on Thursday as part of the Statewide Outreach program.

The day started with a visit with Rick Duncan of Edward Jones in Osage Beach. The Mizzou group then made a stop at the University of Missouri Extension office of Camden County in Camdenton, before heading to Lebanon.

Once in Lebanon, Alden, Kelly, Janssen and Murray paid a visit to the offices of the Lebanon Daily Record, where they met with the newspaper's owner and president Dalton Wright and Sports Editor Israel Potoczny.

Next on the agenda was the Lebanon Rotary, where a group of about 60 people received an update on the activities at the University of Missouri from Alden and Kelly. The final stop of the day was at the Laclede County Extension Office in Lebanon.

Mizzou's Statewide Outreach program has touched every county in the state since it began. Continue to watch mutigers.com for updates on future trips.
