Mizzou/Oklahoma Match-Game Notes
Junior outside hitter Paola Ampudia (Cali, Colombia) entered tonight leading the Big 12 Conference with 173 kills in her last 10 matches, an average of 17.3 per night. Ampudia continued her strong play against Oklahoma, posting 21 kills. She now has 194 in her last 11, tops in the Big 12.
Ampudia's 21 kills on the night are one shy of her season-high for a three-set conference match and marks her fourth 20-kill effort of the season, all of which have come in the last eight matches.
Ampudia finished just one dig shy of her fourth career kill-dig double-double.
Senior setter Lei Wang-Francisco (Shanghai, China) played in her 118th career match at Mizzou, tying Sherri Gentry for tenth all-time.
Wang-Francisco's 45 assists in the match are a Big 12 three-set high this season. She also posted 17 dimes in the first set, a single-frame high for Mizzou this season.
Junior libero Caitlyn Vann (Muncie, Ind.) posted 15 digs to raise her season total to 398, passing Naaron Branson for eighth on Mizzou's all-time list. The 15 digs for Vann are her most since corralling 19 at Kansas State on Oct. 14, 2009.
Oklahoma entered Wednesday ranked third in the Big 12 in opponent hitting percentage at .154, but the Tigers hit .226 against the Sooners' defense.
Junior Weiwen Wang (Nanjing, China) came off the bench for the Tigers and netted eight kills without an error on 26 attacks, her most attempts in a three-set match this season. She also corralled eight digs in the match, a career-best.
Sophomore Annie Lopez (St. Louis, Mo.) added 10 digs in the match, two off of her season-best effort.
Sophomore Brittney Brimmage (East St. Louis, Ill.) posted seven kills on .500 hitting as her seven kills are her most since posting 13 against Utah on Sept. 5.
Mizzou pulled in 66 digs on the night, the fifth-best three-set mark by and team in the Big 12 this season.
