Hearnes Center, Columbia, Mo.
Mizzou/Texas Tech Post-Game Notes
Mizzou won its eighth-consecutive home match to start the season, tying its best home start since 2003. The win sets up a match with Nebraska next weekend in which the Tigers will look to match their best home start since 2002 at 9-0. The Tigers have beaten Nebraska just once at the Hearnes Center.
The three-set victory was the Tigers' sixth sweep of the season and their fourth at the Hearnes Center.
The Red Raiders' 44 total points were the fewest that Mizzou has allowed in a Big 12 match this season. Mizzou's lowest that in a three-set match was 39 against UMKC earlier this season.
With 25 attacks tonight, junior outside hitter Julianna Klein (Keota, Iowa) moved within 12 of Gwen Mullens for eighth-place on the Tigers' career attack list. Klein now has 2,776 total attacks at Mizzou.
Junior libero Caitlyn Vann (Muncie, Ind.) posted 11 digs to take sole possession of fifth place on Mizzou's all-time list with 1,160. Vann now sits 16 digs behind Naaron Branson for the No. 4 slot.
Junior middle blocker Catie Wilson (Omaha, Neb.) hit .778, her best hitting percentage since Aug. 29, when she hit .857 in the Mizzou's sweep of Ole Miss during the Tiger Invitational. Wilson hit .750 with 19 kills this week to pace the Tiger attack.
Junior Rosa Medrano (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) hit a career-best .500 in the match, totaling seven kills on 14 attacks with only one error. The one attack error is also a career-best for Medrano.
Mizzou hit .344 in the match, its second-best clip of the season. Their season-best .354 came in a road win at Utah Valley earlier this season.
Mizzou limited Texas Tech to a .035 hitting percentage, its best opponent hitting percentage in Big 12 play this season. Their previous best was when they held Colorado to .099 hitting on Wednesday.
Mizzou presented a $2,100 check during intermission to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The funds were raised as in an online auction of jerseys and T-shirts following the Tigers' "Dig for the Cure" match Sept. 16 vs. Kansas.
