Hey Tiger fans!

I can't believe that my freshman year of college has finally started! I have been waiting for this for such a long time and being apart of the Mizzou gymnastics team just makes it that much more exciting.

We made it through our first official week of preseason! Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we start the practice off with conditioning, complex and stretching. Then we are put into a group and workout with them for the week. Wednesdays are a little different in that we have a block schedule and each group comes in at a different time. We do not have to do the conditioning at the beginning, but regardless of what time we train at, we all meet with Coach Looney at 5 for running. Because it's preseason the coaches can now give us assignments to do on each event and how much of each skill corresponds to how much we do in conditioning. The system is that when the numbers in conditioning are low the numbers in gymnastics are high and vice versa. This past week was a low week in conditioning and a high week in gymnastics. Our lifting coach, Coach Looney, tries to adjust the numbers that we do in the weight room when we have a high week in gymnastics.

Amy is just about done with everyone's floor routine and they are all looking really good! Rob and Fig have been super busy with recruiting for the 2011 class! It's amazing how early the recruiting has gotten! We have had recruits here almost every Friday watching practice and they all seem very excited!

Everyone is looking really good in the gym and we all can't wait to show it off come competition season! Keep checking in to see how the Mizzou gymnastics team is progressing! GO TIGERS!!!
