MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Mizzou men's cross country program continued its season by placing 13th at the 24th Annual Roy Griak Classic, hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday (Sept. 26). Junior Dan Quigley (St. Louis, Mo.) was the Tigers' top finisher in his season debut as he clocked a time of 25:51 to place 46th overall. Big 12 rival Iowa State won the men's race with 71 points while Hassan Mead of Minnesota claimed the individual title.

"It is good to have a meet like this early in the season against some great competition," head coach Jared Wilmes said. "We came out and we made some tactical errors, but it is better to make them now and learn from them as we head into the latter half of the season. I thought today was a very good learning curve for us."

Following Quigley as the Tigers' second finisher was junior Michael Pandolfo (Lone Tree, Colo.), who finished in 26:40 to earn 74th in the race while freshman Max Storms (Kansas City, Mo.) finished two seconds behind Pandolfo at 77th overall. Phillip King (Columbia, Mo.) and Kevin McKee (Kansas City, Mo.) rounded out the Tigers' top five finishers as they posted times of 26:51 and 27:03, respectively.

Both Aaron Dixon (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Ben Brammeier (Ballwin, Mo.) also raced for the Tigers, posting times of 27:13 and 27:38, respectively.

The Tigers will return to action on Oct. 3 as they take part in the Great Louisville Cross Country Classic, hosted by the University of Louisville. For all the latest, stay tuned to www.MUTigers.com.
