Mizzou/UMKC Post-Game Notes
• The 3-0 win was the Mizzou's fifth sweep of the 2009 season and first since the Tigers knocked off Fairfield, 3-0, at the Michigan/Pepsi Challenge.

• UMKC's 39 total points were the fewest the Tigers have allowed in a match this year. Their previous best was when they held Texas State to .061 in the opening weekend of the season.

• The Tigers also held UMKC to -.065 hitting, the Tigers' best opponent hitting percentage of the season.

• Mizzou improved to 9-0 on the season when they post a higher hitting percentage than their opponents. The Tigers outhit UMKC .275 to -.065.

• Freshman defensive specialist Marissa Ferri (Naperville, Ill.) played in her first career match for Mizzou, posting one dig in the third frame.

• Freshman middle blocker Lindsey Petrick (Overland Park, Kan.) also appeared in her first match as a Tiger, with three attacks and one solo block.

• With a team-high 13 digs, junior libero Caitlyn Vann (Muncie, Ind.) moved within three of Margaret Yanics for seventh place on the Tigers' career list. Vann now has 1,063 digs in her Mizzou career and now needs four to move into sole possession all-time.

• This was the sixth consecutive match and 10th in the last 11 matches that Vann led Mizzou in digs.

• Junior outside hitter Paola Ampudia (Cali, Colombia), the two-time reigning Big 12 Rookie of the Week and the conference's Preseason Newcomer of the Year, continued her strong play with a team-high nine kills and seven digs. Tonight marks the second time this season Ampudia led Mizzou in kills.

• Junior outside hitter Julianna Klein (Keota, Iowa) won six consecutive points on serve for the Tigers during the first set, including two aces.

• Vann posted six of Mizzou's season-high 11 service aces, including three-in-a-row in the final frame. The six aces for Vann are a career-best and they are the most in a three-set match by a Tiger since Julianna Klein (Keota, Iowa) served seven against Villanova on Aug. 26, 2006.

• Mizzou is now 5-0 this season at home, their best start at home since the 2005 season, when the team also ran off five-straight at home before falling to Nebraska.
