COLUMBIA, Mo. - Nine current and former University of Missouri Tigers will compete in the Show-Me State Games this weekend. Named "Unleashed," the team will compete in the 19 and Over Competitive division.
Current players Jessra Johnson (Fayette, Mo.) and Shakara Jones (St. Charles, Mo.) and incoming freshmen Sydney Crafton (Jefferson City, Mo.) and Trenee Thornton (Kansas City, Mo.) join former Tigers LaToya Bond, Christelle N'Garsanet, EeTisha Riddle and Carlynn Savant on the team.
The team tips off play at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, July 31 at Oakland Junior High School. They return to the court at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 at Columbia College's court two and hit the hardwood at 6 p.m. later that day at Oakland Junior High School to conclude pool play.
If "Unleashed" finishes first in their pool the team receives a bye in the first round of the single-elimination finals bracket and will not play until 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2 at Gentry Middle School. Otherwise the squad will play at 9:15 a.m. at Columbia College court two, 8 a.m. at Oakland Junior High School or 8 a.m. at Columbia College court three if they finished in second, third or fourth place, respectively.
All quarterfinal games for a non-first place finish occur at 11:45 a.m. at one of Columbia Colleges' courts. The two semifinal contests will take place simultaneously at 2:15 p.m. on Columbia College courts one and two while the championship game will be played at 4:45 p.m. at Columbia College court one.
