Farmer Finishes Seventh In Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Leslie Farmer finished seventh overall in the 400-meter hurdle finals on the last day of the U.S. Track and Field Championships, while past Tiger champion Christian Cantwell won the men's shot put and will head into international competition as the one of the top throwers in the world.

Farmer placed seventh, finishing in 1:01.01 in the junior women's division behind Big 12 athlete Kianna Elahi of Iowa State. Also competing from the black and gold was Krishna Lee, who finished 13th in the women's shot put with a toss of 196 feet, ten inches (59.99 meters).

Cantwell, the 2008 silver medalist, won the men's shot put on his second throw with a toss of 71 feet, 7.25 inches, passing on his final two attempts after realizing he would be one of the top four throwers moving on to international competition.
