EUGENE, Ore. - Leading off the pack of current and former Missouri Track and Field athletes participating in the U.S. Track and Field Championships, junior Nick Adcock currently sits in ninth place in the men's decathlon after the first day of competition.
Adcock, who finished eighth at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships is the only representative from the Big 12 in the event and has 3859 points so far.
Beginning with the 100-meter dash, Adcock would finish tenth in 11.18 and tenth in the long jump, leaping 22 feet, 7.25 inches (6.89 meters). His best finishes of the day would come in the shot put and 400-meter dash, ending with two sixth place finishes.
Adcock will complete the decathlon tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. pacific time with one of his better events, the 110-meter hurdles. Also competing tomorrow will be Krishna Lee in the shot put.
