Tigers in Second After Day One of APSU Intercollegiate

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky.-- The Mizzou men's golf team finished day one of the F&M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate in second place with a two-round total of 560. The Tigers carded rounds of 281 and 279 on Monday and trail only host school Austin Peay, who finished the first day of play with a 551 total.

Senior Peter Malnati led the Tigers with rounds of 68 and 67 on the day, for a two-round total of 135. Malnati has now recorded six rounds in the 60s out of the 14 round he has played this fall. The 67 matches his career best.

Malnati is three shots behind the tournament leader Erik Barnes of Austin Peay.

Sophomore William Harrold also carded a pair of rounds in the 60s, turning in a 69 and a 68 on Monday. He is in fourth place with his 137 total.

Senior Ryne Fisher and sophomore Will Hogan are tied for 16th place with 36-hole totals of 144, each shooting a pair of 72's on the first day of play. Freshman Jace Long turned in rounds of 75 and 76 for a two-round total of 151.

The final round of play will be played on Tuesday.
