COLUMBIA, Mo. - - A successful first day of the Inaugural UMB Bank-Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate Classic concluded just before sunset on Monday. Indiana leads the tournament, standing at even par after 36 holes of play.
Missouri carded rounds of 305 and 310 and stands in 10th place heading into Tuesday's final round.
The tournament is the first hosted by the University of Missouri men's golf team at the new Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia. The new home course of the Tigers opened last spring.
Individually, junior Peter Malnati is tied for 10th place after shooting round of 74 and 73 on the par-72 track. Malnati is among a group of eight tied with a 3-over par. He is nine shots behind the tournament leader, Jorge Campillo of Indiana, who carded an even-par 72 in round one and a competitive course record of six-under 66 in the second round.
MU freshman William Harrold is tied for 41st place with a two-round total of 147, while sophomore Bud Reynolds stands in a tie for 50th spot with a 157 total. Junior Ryne Fisher is tied for 59th place and junior Kyle Marcolla is in 61st place.
The final round of the UMB Bank-Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate Classic will get underway with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday at Old Hawthorne.
