LEXINGTON, Ky. - - Mizzou men's golf picked up its best finish of the 2007-08 season, tying for second at the UK Bluegrass Invitational in Lexington, Ky. The Tigers carded a final round 313 and finished with a three-round total of 915, putting them in a tie with Murray State.
Central Florida won the event with an 899 three-round score. Missouri's second round 287 was the best 18-hole team score on the weekend by any team in the field.
A pair of freshmen, Tyler Hillis and William Harrold, led the Tigers with 54-hole totals of 226. They were among a group tie for 12th place. Hillis' second round 69 on Sunday matched the lowest score of the weekend.
Junior Peter Malnati tied for 22nd place with a 230 score for the three rounds, while sophomore Bud Reynolds tied for 46th spot with a three-round total of 235.
Next up for Mizzou is the Big 12 Championships in Trinity, Texas April 26-27.
