Columbia, Mo. - Hickman High School's all-state defender Liz Gayer, who will join the Tigers in the fall of 2008, has been recognized by Rise Magazine as an All-Area soccer player in their January/February issue.

Gayer is one of five defenders listed in the magazine.

The Columbia defender was one of six high school seniors to sign with the Tigers on Feb. 6, a group that can help Mizzou build upon the team's success in 2007.

Gayer earned All-state honors last season for the Kewpies. She played club soccer for Columbia's Carrera Soccer Club under Head Coach Paul Pitchford. She begins her senior season March 12 with Hickman's Purple and Gold match.
