Post Game Quotes
Missouri vs. Colorado February 23, 2008
Columbia, Mo. (Mizzou Arena)
Mizzou Head Coach Mike Anderson
On Missouri's first-half performance, just one turnover by the Tigers
"We came out and got off to a slow start, but at the same time our defense was a constant and we were able to get some guys our there to give us some energy. They came in and we created with our defense. I thought our defense in the first half was great. In the first half they only scored 20 points, that's pretty good defense."
On Darryl Butterfield's performance off the bench
"He was the spark plug off the bench. You always try and have somebody on the bench that is important. He came in and really gave us energy. He knocked a couple shots down and it became contagious. Now we're making shots, gaining energy."
On Keon Lawrence continuing his consistent performance
"He's starting to figure out his role. He's finding different ways to score. In the second half he made some big shots for us and he made some shots early in the game. You have to have different guys step up. He hits a couple buckets and made a few big plays down the stretch."
Colorado Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik
On Colorado Not Taking any Free Throws
"I think this might be the first time. We had 34 paint points, it wasn't like we weren't going to the rim. There is nothing that I can say that would be right, let's just leave it at that. I know that we were aggressive to the rim."
Colorado's Performance Throughout The Game
"I thought we competed well. I mean, it just really came down to little things that made a difference in this ballgame, we missed a shot, they made one. One more block off, one less turn over, one less of anything. There is a fine line between winning and losing. We competed, we just came up short."
On Colorado's Zone Defense
"We changed our defenses up. We have three defenses that we played. We tried to keep them off balance and they did the same thing. When we went big, it gave us more strength on the boards and we were better defensively, but the way they defend it gave us less skill out there. And we go with more skill and go smaller, so we're not quite as strong on the boards and not quite as strong defensively against their bigger players."
Colorado's Team Depth
"We have been kind of going back and forth with that (zone and man-to-man defense) all year. It really hasn't changed our defensive philosophy."
