Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri freshman forward Alysha Bonnick was selected to the Soccer America All-Freshman second team, marking another honor for the Gower, Ontario native, who had one of the best freshman seasons in program history.
Bonnick, the 2007 Big 12 Rookie of the Year, finished the season with 11 goals, 10 assists and 32 points, all three new Mizzou freshman records.
In addition to the Soccer America honor, she made the Top Drawer Soccer All-Rookie first team and she is a finalist for the Soccer Buzz Freshman of the Year award. She also was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-Central Region second team.
In the final NCAA statistical rankings, Bonnick ranks fifth among freshman in the assists per game category (0.45) and eighth in points per game (1.45).
She joined Texas' Nikki Arlitt as the only Big 12 players on the first or second teams.
