Columbia, Mo. -Ehren Earleywine, Missouri's Head Softball Coach, announced today that nationally renowned pitching instructor, Doug Gills, will host two pitching clinics on the University of Missouri campus. Those interested have the option of signing up for a one day, three-hour pitching clinic held Sunday, Jan. 13, or for a four-week pitching clinic held Sunday, Jan. 13, 20, 27 and Feb. 3. Individuals are able to register for both clinics should they so desire. No walk ups will be accepted.
Registration for the Jan. 13 clinic will begin at 10:30 a.m. (CT), in the Dan Devine Pavilion. The clinic is slated for an 11 a.m. start. Registration is limited to the first 40 pitchers that sign up. Anyone signing up after the 40 spots have been filled will be added to a waiting list. The cost of the three hour clinic is $70.
The four week pitching clinic is limited to five campers per hour with a 25 camper limit. Weeks one and two of instruction will be held in the Devine Pavilion, with weeks three and four held in the Hearnes Fieldhouse. Each lesson is one hour in length, with the first session starting at 2:30 p.m., and the final clinic beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cost for the four week clinic is $160. Sign in will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of each clinic.
Pitchers must provide their own catcher as a portion of the clinics will involve actual live pitching. There is no age restriction and tennis shoes must be worn.
Doug Gillis is a nationally known pitching coach that served as a five-time member of Team USA and helped his team to a gold medal at the 2002 Pan American Championships and silver medal in the 2003 Pan American Games. A member of the 2004 USA Team, Gillis is the lead pitching instructor for the International Softball Congress.
