Missouri in Tie for Eighth at Wolverine Invite

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - - The Mizzou men's golf team opened up the 2007 Wolverine Invitational at Mission Inn with rounds of 301 and 295 on Monday in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The Tigers are in a tie for eighth place heading into Tuesday's final round.

Juniors Peter Malnati and Kyle Marcolla are among a group tied for 29th place with 36-hole totals of 152. Malnati carded two rounds of 76 on Monday, while Marcolla turned in scores of 79 and 73 on the first day of play.

One shot behind Malnati and Marcolla are junior Ryan Fisher and freshman William Harrold. Fisher and Harrold are in a tie for 34th spot with two-round scores of 153. Sophomore Bud Reynolds is tied for 41st place with a 154 total.

Missouri is tied with Xavier for the eighth spot, one shot behind seventh-place Northern Iowa. Michigan leads the tournament with a two-round total of 583.

The final round of the Wolverine Invitational will be played on Tuesday.
