Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri women's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 academic year. The squad earned a 3.01 team grade point average during that period to earn the honor, which is given to teams that record a team GPA over 3.0.
"This just shows that our student-athletes are more than just great soccer players," Associate Head Coach Amy Edwards said after learning of the team's honor. "They're also great students."
The 2006 Tigers landed six players on the Academic All-Big 12 first and second teams, while this season's squad had seven honorees.
