Fort Worth, Texas - University of Missouri junior quarterback Chase Daniel has been named as one of three finalists for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award (The O'Brien), as announced by the Davey O'Brien Foundation.  Daniel is joined by Oregon senior Dennis Dixon and Florida sophomore Tim Tebow as a finalist.

 

Daniel and the Tigers are currently 10-1 and ranked a program-best fourth in the latest BCS standings.  The Southlake, Texas, native is a major reason why the Tigers are one of the top teams in the land, as he ranks among the top-10 of NCAA statistical rankings in eight different categories, including six different top-five showings.  Among those include touchdown passes (3^rd - 30), total offense (4^th - 349.27 ypg), pass completions (4^th - 28.09 cpg), passing yards per game (5^th - 326.36 ypg), completion percentage (5^th - 69.3%), passing yards (5^th - 3,590), points responsible for (7^th - 18.36 ppg) and pass efficiency (9^th - 155.06 rating).  Additionally, Daniel is directing a Tiger squad that has been as consistently good as any offense in the country in 2007, as MU is the only school in the nation to score at least 30 points in every game this year.
