COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri women's swimming and diving team will play host to Virginia Tech, Southern Illinois, Missouri State, Illinois and Drury in the second annual Mizzou Dual Challenge beginning Friday at 5 p.m. The three-day meet, which features the Tigers in five duals over the course of the weekend, will be held in the Mizzou Aquatics Center. Admission to each session is free. Fans unable to catch this weekend's action can find live updates on mutigers.com.

Last Year's Meet

The Mizzou women swept all four duals in last year's Mizzou Dual Challenge, which featured Southern Illinois, Iowa, Drury and Louisville. Both Southern Illinois and Drury return to the MAC for this year's meet.

Tigers in 2007-08

The Tigers are 2-1 on the young 2007-08 season. The women broke open the season with a convincing win over Big Ten Conference defending champions and now-No. 23 ranked Indiana. After dropping a dual to No. 6 Texas A&M, the Tigers returned to the pool a week later to claim their first conference win of the year against archrival Kansas. In a series that dates back to 1977, Mizzou's win was only the program's second ever over the Jayhawks in Lawrence.

Hungry for More

A top-20 ranking was issued to the Tigers in the first College Swim Coaches Association of America Top 25 Poll released on Oct. 23. The women's No. 20 ranking is as high a ranking as the program has ever received. As the Tigers head into this weekend's action there is no doubt they will have their sights set on improving this ranking.
