Columbia, Mo. - Kate Greer (Marshalltown, Iowa), a member of the 2007 Missouri Cross Country team has landed on the Big 12 Conference Fall Good Works Team. Greer, a senior this season, is the Missouri representative on the team, as each school is allotted one athlete. Greer was recognized not only for her community service, but also for her high level of performance for the Tiger cross country team this season. The team reflects a positive image for all of the Big 12 athletes, and one that provides role models for many student athletes.
Each institution selected one student-athlete for recognition based on their contributions to the community, academic standing and participation in their respective sports. Greer, an advertising major, also earned Academic All-Big 12 honors this season and is coming off of an impressive performance at the Big 12 Championships last week. Greer finished 31st overall and was the second Tiger to finish the race.
This is the second year that the Big 12 Conference has honored individuals with the Good Works Team. The fall team is comprised of members from each of the schools fall sports (football, volleyball, soccer and cross country.) Greer is the first member of the cross country team to be honored as a member of the Big 12 Good Works Team.
