Weekend Football Fan Primer - Mizzou vs. Iowa State

Oct. 26, 2007

Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri will welcome approximately 55,000-60,000 fans to tomorrow's football game against Iowa State.  Kickoff for the 13th-ranked Tigers' penultimate home game of the 2007 season is set for 1 p.m., and there is no television for the contest.

Tickets remain available for the game, and can be ordered on the phone by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS (884-PAWS in Columbia), or can be purchased Friday and Saturday at the MU Ticket Office at Mizzou Arena, or Saturday at the North Endzone Ticket Office at Memorial Stadium (both locations open at 9 a.m. Saturday).

Here are some news/notes/tips for fans to keep in mind when coming to this weekend's game...

·         SOUTH END ZONE TICKET SPECIAL - A special deal is being offered that gives four reserved seats in the South end zone for just $90 for Saturday's game.  A limited number of these tickets remain available as of Friday morning, and this special WILL NOT be available after 5 p.m. today (NOT available on game day)...

·         WEAR GOLD - Fans are encouraged to wear gold to the game if at all possible, due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from people at the Nebraska game on Oct. 6th, as well as feedback from those watching on television.  The Tiger Team Store, located on the North concourse of Memorial Stadium, has plenty of gold-colored merchandise on sale, with the store opening at 8 a.m. Saturday...

·         ATTEND TIGER WALK - Approximately two hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff (10:45 a.m. this Saturday), the Mizzou team will arrive via bus at the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex, and the team and coaches will walk across the Tiger Walk Bridge, spanning Providence Road, and walk down behind the stadium.  Fans are encouraged to greet the team - many players credit the huge crowd that showed up at Tiger Walk prior to the Nebraska game as getting them motivated for the big night that ensued...

·         RALLY TOWEL GIVEAWAY - The first 45,000 fans in the gates Saturday will receive a complimentary Rally Towel...

·         Larry Smith ERA REUNION - Former Coach Larry Smith and more than 50 former players and coaches during his time at Mizzou (1994-2000) will be on hand to celebrate the achievements in Smith's seven seasons on the sideline at MU.  The group will be honored at halftime...

·         BE LOUD, BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE - Fans make a difference for the team when they're loud, and they're encouraged to continue to help make "The Zou" one of the toughest places in which to play for opponents - MU is a healthy 23-6 at Faurot Field since 2003.  Along with that, fans are always expected to be respectful of visitors and those around them, and to be responsible with their actions.
