Tiger Softball Team Closes Season With Fall World Series

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri softball team finished fall practice with a world series in which the Black team won three games to the Gold's team one victory. The Gold team came through with a 1-0 game one win, but suffered three straight losses (5-3, 8-0 and 6-4) to fall from contention.

Led by power-hitter Amanda Renth (Mascoutah, Ill.) the Black team earned its first win, 5-3, on University Field. Renth came through with two home runs and three RBI.

Rain forced game number three into the Dan Devine Pavilion where the Black team combined for an eight run shutout of the Gold team. Newcomer Stacy Delaney (Freeland, Mich.) threw a complete game shutout for the Black team.

Returning to University Field for game number four, the Black team came up with a one run win to wrap up the series.
