Oct. 15, 2007

Mizzou sophomore Julia Potter was named the Golfweek Player of the Week on Monday after winning the Johnie Imes Invitational last week. The sophomore matched a school record with a six-under 66 in the final round the Imes Invitational on her way to taking the tournament title.

Potter's 66 included a five-under 31 on the back nine and set a new women's course record at the Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia. She finished the tournament with a three-round total of 214, which also matched a school record.

It was the second-straight tournament in which Potter had won, after taking top honors at the rain-shortened Sunflower Invitational the previous week.

Potter and the Tigers are currently playing in the Price's Give'em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M. Potter stands in a tie for third place following an opening round 72 on Monday
