Andrighetto and Bonnick Earn Weekly Honors

Sept. 25, 2007

Columbia, Mo. - Two University of Missouri women's soccer players were recognized for their performances in then-No. 20 Mizzou's wins against then-No. 19 California and TCU last weekend (Sept. 21-23). The Tigers beat the Bears, 4-0, Friday (Sept. 21) and the Horned Frogs, 6-2, Sunday (Sept. 23).

Sophomore Kristin Andrighetto was named to the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week, after scoring two goals and assisting on three. One of those assists was on freshman forward Alysha Bonnick's second game-winning goal of the weekend, a goal that gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead against TCU. Bonnick was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for her three-goal, and one-assist effort in the two wins. She was also selected to the Soccer Buzz National Elite Team of the Week.

The Soccer America Team selection was Mizzou's second this year. Tiger sophomore Michelle Collins was selected to the team the first week of the season for her efforts in Mizzou wins over then-No. 20 Illinois and Western Michigan.

The award is Bonnick's first conference honor of her career.

The Team of the Week selection is Andrighetto's first of her career.
