Nationally Ranked Wrestling Team Hosts Saturday Scrimmages

Columbia, Mo. - Missouri's nationally ranked wrestling program will hold scrimmages Saturday, Sept. 22, at 9 a.m. (CT) in the wrestling facility located on the fourth floor of the Hearnes Center. The scrimmages are open to the public and fans are encouraged to attend the event prior to Missouri's 1 p.m. (CT) football game against Illinois State.

The scrimmages, which should last approximately 45 minutes, will run with a 2-1-1 format pitting Tiger against Tiger. Fans will have the opportunity to see several of the nation's top wrestlers including two-time All-American Tyler McCormick at 133 pounds and Big 12 Champions Raymond Jordan (184) and Maxwell Askren (197).

The Missouri wrestling season will officially begin Friday, Nov. 9 at Rider. Throughout the course of the campaign, the Tigers will host five home duals in addition to the Missouri Open set for Sunday, Nov. 18. The season will wrap up Saturday, March 22 in St. Louis, Mo., as the Tigers play host to the 78th annual NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships held in the Scottrade Center. Tiger fans interested in purchasing tickets to the NCAA Championships are encouraged to join the Takedown Club through which Missouri fans will receive prime seating to the national event.
