Tigers Named to Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll

June 29, 2007

COLUMBIA, Mo. - A total of 10 University of Missouri women's basketball players were named to the Big 12 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring semester, announced the league office on June 12. The 10 selections are the most the squad has ever put on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Kassie Drew, Amanda Hanneman, Blair Hardiek, Alyssa Hollins, Jessra Johnson, Kacey McFarland, Toy Richbow, EeTisha Riddle, Carlynn Savant and Marissa Scott all earned spots on the Commissioner's Honor Roll in the spring semester.

"Our program puts as much emphasis in the classroom than on the basketball court," Head Coach Cindy Stein said. "Academics are our first priority and these student-athletes are a testament to that. I'm extremely proud of what they have accomplished in the classroom."

Acknowledging all participants, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for all sports sponsored by the membership of the league. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognizes those student-athletes who registered a 3.0 or better grade point average the previous semester.

Submitted through the Directors of Student-Athlete Support Services at each institution, those honored are not necessarily the stars on the field and court but those who participate on the team. They include the letterwinners and non-letterwinners and recognize every student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom.
