Mizzou Run-Rules Cowboys to Record 40th Win

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.-- - Missouri claimed its 40th victory of the season with a 13-1 run-rule win over Oklahoma State on Saturday at the Big 12 Championship. It was the Tigers' largest margin of victory ever in the Big 12 Tournament.

Junior Jacob Priday drove in five runs and junior Brock Bond had a career-best four hits and four RBI in the win, while senior Gary Arndt added three hits and sophomore Evan Frey had his second-straight two-hit game.

Priday drove in Missouri's first two runs of the game with a double in the top of the first inning. The Tigers added two more runs in the second, getting an RBI single by Bond and scoring on a balk with runners on the corners.

The Tigers then blew the game open with a five-run top of the fourth, highlighted by Priday's three-run home run, his 10th homer of the season and the 30th of his career. Mizzou also had a two-run single by Bond in the inning.

Missouri (40-16) put together a two-out rally in the fifth, adding three runs on a two-run double by Frey and an RBI single by Bond. Bond finished 4-for-5 on the night and extended his hitting streak to a career-best nine games, which is also the longest by a Tiger this season.

Sophomore Rick Zagone picked up his seventh win of the year, striking out six in six innings on the mound. He allowed just one run on five hits and walked only one. Sophomore Scooter Hicks pitched a perfect seventh inning.

Next up for the Tigers is the NCAA Tournament. The selections for the 64-team field will be announced at 11:30 a.m. on Monday on ESPN. The Tigers will host a watch party for the selection show at T.K. Brothers on Monday. Fans and media are invited to attend and encouraged to show up at 11 a.m.
