Tigers Host No. 9 Texas in Two Game Softball Series

The University of Missouri softball team will resume conference play with a two-game series against the ninth-ranked Texas Longhorns beginning Saturday, March 31, at 2 p.m. (CT) First pitch of game two is slated for 1 p.m. (CT) on Sunday, April 1. Live stats and all access will be provided both days.

Fans attending the Saturday afternoon game at University Field are encouraged to come early as parking will be limited due to the Missouri Relays (track and field) and baseball game against Kansas running simultaneously at the Audry J. Walton complex and Taylor Stadium, respectively. Numerous parking lots surrounding the facilities will be open and shuttles will be provided to transport fans to the three event sites. Wrapping up spring break play at home, the Tigers are on a three-game win streak that began last Saturday with a 7-4 victory against Texas Tech. Missouri's sole league victory, as Sunday's game was rained out, the Tigers are anxious to host their first Big 12 opponent of the season.

Missouri and Texas stand tied at 10 wins a piece in the all-time series dating back to 1997. The Tigers have swept the Longhorns on two ocassions, first in 1997 at home and again in 2004 in Austin.

Texas, coming off of a 5-0 shutout of No. 2 Texas A&M on Wednesday, marks Missouri's fifth top-10 opponent of the season and second to play on University Field.

Following Missouri's series with Texas, the Tigers will travel to Oklahoma State for their first of five remaining road games. Game one will be held FRIDAY, April 6 at 7 p.m. with game two held Saturday, April 7 at 1 p.m. (CT).
