Missouri swimming standout Jill Granger has been accepted and will compete in next week's NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, scheduled for March 8-10 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Granger's season-best time of 16:24.29 in the 1650 freestyle is seeded 19th nationally and sixth among sophomores. Granger will also be able to compete in the 500 free and 400 individual medley.

"Jill had a great season and this is a great way to finish it up," Mizzou Head Coach Brian Hoffer said. "She is one of the top-30 swimmers in (the mile) and has a great swim at the Big 12 meet."

Granger is the first female swimmer from MU to participate in the NCAAs since 2003 when Sarah Lo, Andrea Nigh and Rebecca Wolfe competed. In 2005, Nicole Frazier qualified as a diver.

The Midland, Texas product will swim the 500 on Thursday, the 400 IM on Friday and conclude with the 1650 - her strongest event - on Saturday
