Day Three Swimming Prelim Results
Platform Diving Prelim Results
MINNEAPOLIS - Missouri sophomores Jill Granger and Kendra Melnychuk concluded the final day of their first-ever NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship with solid performances in their most successful events.
Melnychuk was the first Tiger to perform as she completed her five-dive effort on the platform with a 235.55 score for an 18th-place finish. As with the 3-meter competition on Friday, she missed advancing to the evening session on Saturday by just 10.8 points. That being said, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native was one of just eight freshmen or sophomores in the 23-diver field.
Granger took to the water in her third and final event of the championship in the 1650 free. After a shaky first few laps, she settled into a steady rhythm and posted the second-fastest time of her career with a 16:31.75, which placed her in 31st.
Next week, Mizzou will send divers David Boyko and Greg DeStephen, along with freestyle sprinter Bennett Clark to the men's championship, which will also be held at Minnesota's University Aquatic Center.
