Beginning this spring, The Club at Old Hawthorne will become the new home of Mizzou Golf and next fall the Tigers will host their first tournament at the new course. The Missouri Women's Golf Team has announced that the Johnie Imes Invitational will be held at Old Hawthorne Oct. 8-9, 2007.

The tournament will be a 54-hole event, with 36 holes played on Oct. 8, with the final 18 holes taking place the following day.

The event is named after Johnie Imes, a long time supporter of the Tigers and an avid golfer, who has been involved with the Missouri Women's Golf Association for several years. Imes started one of Missouri's scholarship endowments, which is named after her husband.

The Club of Old Hawthorne is located just east of Columbia on Route WW. The 18-hole championship golf course is scheduled for completion this spring. Last fall, the University of Missouri and Old Hawthorne entered a partnership that allows the Mizzou Men's and Women's Golf Teams to host one tournament of year at the course.
