Five Missouri women's basketball student-athletes were among the 46 on the 2007 Academic All-Big 12 Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Alyssa Hollins, Kacey McFarland and Carlynn Savant were among the 33 first-team selections, while Kassie Drew and Blair Hardiek were part of the 13 second-team honorees.
This marks Savant's third appearance on the first team and the first for both Hollins and McFarland. It is Drew and Hardiek's second time to appear on the second team.
In the nine years under Cindy Stein, a total of 37 athletes have earned recognition on the Academic All-Big 12 Teams. It is also the fourth time that five Tigers have been honored in the same year.
Missouri will conclude the regular-season at home on Thursday when it welcomes Kansas to Mizzou Arena at 6:30 p.m. With a win the Tigers will enter next week's Big 12 Championship as the No. 9 seed, while a loss will place them as the No. 10 seed. Mizzou's first-round opponent could be any of three possible teams (Oklahoma State, Texas or Texas Tech), but they won't know that until after Thursday's other game (Iowa State at Texas Tech) is completed as well.
