Tiger Softball Games Set to Begin at 7 p.m. in Devine Pavilion

Feb. 20, 2007

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri softball team (6-6) will host a Wednesday evening doubleheader against St. Louis University (0-5) in the Dan Devine Pavilion beginning at 7 p.m. (CT). This marks the Tiger's second home doubleheader of the season played in Missouri's indoor practice facility and 53rd meeting all-time between the two teams. Live stats will not be available. Fans attending the doubleheader should plan to park in the football parking lot located on the west side of the stadium and then take the pedestrian bridge across Providence Blvd. to safely reach the Pavilion.

Entering the two-game series, Missouri owns a 50-2 lead over the Bilikins, most recently taking a 10-2 win in six innings over SLU March 5, 2006, at the Missouri State Spring Classic. Eight of the Missouri individuals to score runs against SLU last season returned for the 2007 Tiger campaign as well as four of the five batters to record hits.

Senior catcher Kathy Masterson (St. Louis, Mo.) leads her teammates with a .483 batting average that ranks third in the Big 12 Conference. Masterson is 14-for-29 at the plate and has scored six runs for the Tigers this season. Masterson, who has crushed three triples over the course of the past 12 games, stands a mere three shy of entering the Missouri career triples record book.

Missouri's starting shortstop for nine games this season, sophomore Andee Allen (Barnhart, Mo.) has scored 12 runs, good enough for a fourth-place showing in the competitive Big 12 league.

Altogether, four Tigers own above a .300 batting average.

In the circle, freshman Jana Hainey (Raymore, Mo.) has made six starts for Missouri earning her first collegiate win last Wednesday against UMKC.
