Softball Team Holds Annual Black and Gold Game Saturday

The Missouri softball team will hold its annual Black and Gold game on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 3 p.m. (CT) in the Dan Devine Pavilion. Admission is free. The game offers fans an opportunity to see the Tigers in action before they open regular season play just six days later. The Tigers will be divided into two squads to help showcase their skills. Free parking will be offered to the public on the west side of the football stadium. Fans are encouraged to take the pedestrian walkway across Providence Road for easy access to the Dan Devine Pavilion.

The game is the final preseason tune-up before starting regular season action in Baton Rouge, La.. The Tigers will participate in the Easton Tiger Classic, Feb. 9-11. The three day tournament features teams from around the country. The Tigers will square off against ninth-ranked Louisiana State (LSU), Memphis, Centenary and Middle Tennessee State. The championship game will be held Feb. 11.

Missouri's first home game of the 2007 campaign will be Wednesday, Feb. 14 against instate opponent UMKC. The doubleheader will begin at 11 a.m. with weather serving as the deciding factor as to the location of the game. Should the cold weather persist, the Tigers will move the game from their home of University Field to the confines of Dan Devine Pavilion. Stay tuned to www.mutigers.com for the latest information.
